Une nouvelle saison compliquée sous la gestion d’Alex Ferguson qui voit son équipe terminer que 13e du championnat. Des supporters demandent son départ et son poste est de plus en plus menacé. Heureusement, Manchester United remportera la FA Cup au détriment de Crystal Palace. De quoi sauver de peu la saison et la tête de Fergie. Dans l’équipe, de nouvelles têtes sont à lister comme celles des réputés Gary Pallister et Paul Ince. À noter la très belle saison de Mark Robins, surnommé »le sauveur du job d’Alex Ferguson » après avoir notamment inscrit le but de la qualification en finale de la FA Cup lors des prolongations de la 1/2 finale face à Oldham Atheltic.
